Some rests don't get lifted up when voice 2 is added?
I wonder why this happens... the quaver rest in the first staff doesn't get lifted up automatically but all other rests do.
The issue happens to me on various occasions, this is just one example. I cannot find the general principle of when to lift the rests, at least it's not obvious.

It's funny because the second time I opened the score the problematic rest (measure 3, flute) is lifted up too. However when I re-create this sentence (measures 4-5, manually, not copy-and-paste) the same rest again doesn't get lifted up.
The score now looks like this:
And as expected, the rest got lifted up the next time I opened the score. What happened :O

Indeed very strange, please report in the issue tracker, not sure whether minor or major, I tend to the latter

I prefer minor as this seems to be nothing major :-x
See #290735: Some rests in voice 1 don't get dragged down when rests in voice 2 are deleted.
EDIT: This is actually a duplicate of #290454: Deleting rest in voice 2 may result in offset rest in voice 1 with zero offset indicated by inspector. My bad.

Nope, my bad, sorry

I'm actually confused, and #290454: Deleting rest in voice 2 may result in offset rest in voice 1 with zero offset indicated by inspector doesn't really explain my idea. I don't really get what #290454 mean because whether or not the rests in voice 2 are deleted, and wherever the rests in voice 1 are, the inspector suggests all rests are zero offset, I think this is at least consistent though I don't know why the seemingly-offset rests have zero offset in the inspector. But via this #290735: Some rests in voice 1 don't get dragged down when rests in voice 2 are deleted I try to say that some notes come back to normal while other notes are still offset, and this is not a normal condition. I'll put #290735 back to active.

All rests have zero offset in the Inspector unless you change it. So if you have multiple voices and the voices get raised or lowered, the offset still reads as zero. So there is really nothing unusual about seeing a raised/lowered rest with zero offset - it just means, no offset from its default position, and that default depends on the content of other voices.

Understood now :-)
Are you sure the problem happened when adding things not when deleting the rests from voice 2? See #290454: Deleting rest in voice 2 may result in offset rest in voice 1 with zero offset indicated by inspector

Not deleting, just adding.
EDIT: I understand what do you mean suddenly. Yes, it indeed happened after I deleted the rests in voice 2.

I figured as much, there's no way I know of to get the result you see there (a note at the beginning of the measure in voice 2 but nothing else in that voice) otherwise.

Indeed. But #290454: Deleting rest in voice 2 may result in offset rest in voice 1 with zero offset indicated by inspector is still telling a different thing.
