I've tried everything. Musescore 3 won't open. Help.
When I try to run musescore 3, it will open the blue window and open the initial window that asks about the scores I want to load. Then upon any selection, the whole program disappears. It still shows that it is active in my task bar but the program has turned invisible. no matter if I click on it on the taskbar or not, it does not show. Why does this happen? I am beyond frustrated. How do I fix it?
I am on a surface pro 3 and running windows 10.
The v2 versions worked, musescore 3, any version, has always given me this issue. What do I do to make it run normally?

Same problem. I haven't used Musescore in several weeks and there were several updates that I selected, ran the install wizard, rebooted my (Windows 10) machine. And just like ivlyd the program begins, advises that the previous session quit unexpectedly, asks to restore session yes/no - whatever selection the program just closes. Ran fine before the updates. Any thoughts, other than remove the app and reinstall it?

I've tied that, it does nothing. It'll make the task bar musescore tab light up for a second as if it's been opened, but the window is missing. If I click on the button in Windows 10 that shows all of my active program windows on the same page (window browser button?) it shows a blank white page for the musescore program. For all other of my active programs it shows a miniature screenshot of those programs; the screenshots aren't blank white screens for my other programs like it is for musescore, they show the exact screen of the program.
I'm starting to come to the conclusion that musescore 3 is incompatible with the surface pro, at least surface pro 3.

I thought of that today and tried it just now, and was able to get in through the "back door". Once inside Musescore, I've disabled the Start Center, as well as selected Start Empty, which is cooler anyway. So, workaround is a success and I'm able to start the app from the desktop icon. Thank you.
It does seem telling, though, that my trouble began immediately after the recent suite of updates and the reboot. Maybe I clicked the wrong choice during the install stage? Who knows.
@ivlyd it seems the program is located off-screen.
Did you perhaps had a 2nd monitor connected during a previous session?

So if it was some weird issue of musescore going away to a different screen but still being ok, then it would show the program normally from the window browser menu. But musescore is glitched out with a blank white screen from this menu so I see that the program is corrupted when it runs on my computer.

No it wouldn't show a preview if it's rendered off-screen on a non-existing space. Because the underlying library wouldn't draw anything if it's off screen...
So yes, an empty preview window is expected in that scenario.
But given your reply, I assume you've tried all methods linked above and none of them worked (not even resetting to factory defaults?)?

I see. I have tried: reinstalling it numerous times in all of the verison for musescore 3.
Uninstalling the aodios3 driver (I'm spelling it wrong, I don't remember what the exact name was)
Opening musescore from a file.
All lead to the same result.
How can I reset to factory defaults if I don't have the program window through which to navigate?

I wonder if this has anything to do with how MuseScore was installed and/or opened. On some systems things need to be installed as Administrator. W10 has a hidden admin account that is a higher level than the admin account we use to sign in. Right click the installer and select run as admin. Sometimes W10 game mode interferes. Worth a shot.

The "Run as Administrator" tip for opening MuseScore in Windows 10 might be the ticket. I've had to fight MuseScore 3 fairly regularly to launch it in Windows 10, going back at least 3-4 months (covering at least a couple of release updates). Today it was so bad I was trying everything including uninstalling, reverting to factory settings, uninstalling a Yamaha Steinberg USB driver that seemed to be interfering with MuseScore launching, and so forth. Running as admin seemed to help some, though it's still not consistently launching, and I'm still having to kill zombie processes regularly in the Task Manager.
