1. Open two scores.
2. 'Play' score 1.
3. Remember the position and click on score 2.
4. 'Play'.
5. Remember the position and click on score 1.
6. Repeat steps 2-5.
Result: The playback position isn't held.
Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (af85025) - Mac 10.7.5.
To be clear: your instructions don't saying anything about ever hitting "stop". Are you literally switching scores while they are still playing? If so, if your expectation that the inactive score would be temporarily paused while viewing the other, and upon switching back, resume playback right where it left off?
When I tried doing this, I got a crash immediately upon the first switch.

The positions seem OK under Windows using Promenade and a saved "Pavane" from Ravel.

Yes, I'm switched scores whilst they are playing - not doing 'Stop'.
Could you reproduce this crash and file it? Not sure if this is it?: #21307: Quickly and frequently changing tabs and playing causes crash
I think I've been encountering this recently, so I'm marking to 'active'.
