I just downloaded the newest version of MuseScore (2.0.3). However, it does not open. I have included screenshots of the program being listed as open, but not actually having a screen. The second screenshot is what is supposed to happen when I hover my mouse over the little screen. Unfortunately, the screenshot doesn't show where my mouse is, but I promise in each shot, it is hovering over the small screen at the bottom. I had this problem too with MuseScore 2.0.2, and I ended up being forced to use MuseScore Portable. It isn't a big deal, but I would rather use the full program rather than the portable version, as it does make it hard to work with larger files. I have tried to find a solution to this problem before, but I only saw information for older programs that didn't help much.

Key points
-MuseScore 2.0.3 doesn't open (the same happened with 2.0.2)
-OS is Windows 10
-I am able to use MuseScore Portable, but not the full MuseScore program

Thank you for your time and help,
Cortney

I actually found a way to solve the problem, but I don't know if it will work every time. I opened up the task manager, expanded the program, and told it to put the program in full screen. It worked somehow, but I will leave this up in case someone has a better solution and/or if someone is having the same issue.

Thank you for reporting this issue. I haven't read any similar problem report, so I don't have a ready solution for you. Let's see if someone else knows what's going on.

BTW, there should be no difference at all between the portable and regualr versions in terms of how they work. They have exactly the same features, etc - it's the same code in fact as far as I know. So whatever issue you are seeing with large files (editing is indeed slow with very large scores), it would be the same betwene the portable and regular versions. If it's not just a question of editing being slow - this much is known - then you might consider asking for help on the forum. As for the speed, be sure to have the Navigator *off*, and don't generate parts until you are done editing. This helps.

@vangelis petsalis: your problem seems solved/caused by malware: https://musescore.org/en/node/154026

@OP: Sound like you're seeing an offscreen window, you could try to get it back onscreen by using the following keyboard combination: WindowsKey+. You might need to do this up to 4 times if the window actually is offscreen.
