Well, sorry for the unclear title.

Steps to reproduce:
empty test file 4/4
Press keys:
c
c
c
6
c
shift+e

expected result: c+e as a chord for the "full" c, but only the part of c in the second bar has the e

Aside Observation:

Strange it is that one note head selected of two tied quarter-notes separated by a measure's bar line will respond to the up/down functions (↑↓ keys) by having the current selection become the whole tie, both notes, and the shift will encompass the complete duration, yet here to what the OP refers, if a SHIFT+PITCH is used to add a pitch to a chord, the grabbing of both note-heads of the tie doesn't take place and the result is only applied upon the currently selected note.
