If you want to set a shortcut involving shift, for example, shift+3, or # for sharp, musescore recognizes the combo as shift+#, instead of shift+3 or #. The shortcut then doesn't work.

That probably wasn't the best example for repro as there already exists a shift+3 shortcut, but if you rebind that existing shortcut to something else, # still doesn't work.

Operating system, MuseScore version...?

Are you using a Mac? I ask because Mac's seem to have problems with generating the # from [Shift]3 which make this a Mac problem first, a MuseScore problem second (in that it is not catering 100% to Mac users) and not a problem with [Shift] shortcuts in general. If, however, you aren't using a Mac and you are having problems with other [Shift] shortcuts in the latest nightly builds (i.e. 2.0 beta) then please post details.

Apologies. You are correct in that this appears to be a MuseScore problem. I can't get [Shift]-2 etc. to work either. There was a known problem with Mac keyboards, lack of # key and using [Alt]3 for # and trying to enter [Shift]3 causing problems so I jumped to the conclusion that that must be it.

Furthermore, if you Clear an existing Shift+3 or whatever you can't then re-enter it.
