Project
  1. go to Menu -> Edit -> Preferences... -> Shortcuts
  2. select any of the default shortcuts
  3. use "Clear" to delete it
  4. use "Apply"
  5. (optionally) leave the Dialog and enter it again
  6. use "Reset Shortcut to Default"

Expected restult: the previously deleted shortcut gets reinstated
Actual result: it does not...

"Reset All Preferences to Default" reinstates it (but also all other modified Settings)

GIT commit: 9219ebd

Comments

  1. go to Menu -> Edit -> Preferences... -> Shortcuts (after having changed some shortcuts earlier)
  2. use "Reset Shortcut to Default"

No shortcut changed.

Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit SP1, MuseScore as per above

Or is 'default' the last saved setting rather than factory default?

I don't see an issue with this. If I define a shortcut (previously), selecting it and using "Reset shortcut to default" works. You do have to select the specific shortcut to reset using this button as it only affects the one it's on.

However, if I do add a new shortcut (previously), using "Reset all preferences to default" will restore the ones I've cleared but will not reset the ones I've added. So:

1. Add a new shortcut to Synthesizer using Shift-S
2. Clear/change some others
2. Exit prefs
3. Go back to prefs and press "Reset all prefs to default". The ones you changed/cleared will be restores, but the one added to Synthesizer will not change. even selecting it and saying "Reset shortcut to default" and then using "Reset all prefs" will bring the user-defined Synth shortcut back.

Status (old) active fixed

Indeed there is no 'reset all shortcuts to default'. Actually this feature never existed. Open a feature request if you wish.

OK misunderstanding on my side, probably fed by the fact the the German translation 'Tastaturkürzel', is the same to singular and plural....
Also wishful thinking :-)
