Bar lines disappearing when hiding empty staves
If a bar line is extended over multiple instrument staves and the highest involved staff is not the first staff, the bar lines disappear in all involved staves, if the first involved staff is hidden via "hide empty staves".
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new score with some instruments.
2. Extend a bar line from a staff (not the highest staff) to the staff below.
3. Enter some notes in the lower involved staff, so that there is a system with notes only in the lower staff.
4. Click on "Hide empty staves".
In the example file, look at the second system.

You forgot to attach an example file.
Confirmed. Loading the file, I see no barlines on the bottom staff, second system (hide empty staves has already been turned on).

mmm... I'm using 7e862583a3 and the score looks correct to me. Do I miss something?
In your pdf, the first measure of the third system was moved to the second system, making the Violoncello staff visible. The hiding of this staff produced the error, so it is not visible. I think, your version sizes the measures differently.
Yes, on my machine, the first system has only 7 bars, the second system 8 bars. Thus measure 16, where the cello enters, is on the third system. So the cell part is hidden on the second system, and this exposes the bug.
