When exporting a score with lyrics placement "above" the XML-export creates a file where lyrics are below the staff lines.
If there is no XML-style to define this, a general offset parameter in the export settings page might be used to set an offset for the position of the "above"-lyrics lines.

Hint:
the XML complex type "lyric" provides an attibute "placement" with may be "above" or "below".
Seems that this is a good place to store this information.
