Please use the Support forum https://musescore.org/en/forum/6 to ask for help using MuseScore,
Search your backup file https://musescore.org/en/handbook/file-formats#msczcomma
You have a file filled with a bunch of nothing. You will need to look for a backup either https://musescore.org/en/node/52116 or https://musescore.org/en/node/127196 may help.

We cross posted and I just put it back to where you had it. It's probably a duplicate that we've seen too many times. I saw no reason to argue with you about the proper priority even though I do agree is should be critical.
No need to pander to me, you're right!
(I have re-read https://musescore.org/en/handbook/developers-handbook/getting-started/h… )
We would like to know if Aidan Foscoe has found his backup file
FWIW, I absolutely agree that a bug that results in this type of empty file is critical. But more to the point is that there really isn't anything we can do without steps to reproduce the problem, and in any case, there is already an issue to log this: #271185: Scores corrupted beyond repair, containing nothing but zeros. So I think the prudent thing to do is to close these reports as duplicates and direct people to that other issue and in particular to the form where we are trying to collect information:
