Thank you, this works but seems complicated. Is it possible to maintain individual voices for the closed score?

Yes, that is what the mentioned methods do

While complicated sounding, with practice it becomes easier as with most new activities. If you need to be able to do it, learning how is very valuable. Try it and if you run into difficulties, ask and someone will be happy to help.
