Expecting section breaks to work separately in the main score and the parts
Sometimes in the parts, those "f", "ff", "fff"s jam together, so that I should use a section break to make them separate. But once attached, the section breaks will also affect the main score, causing it very bad to look because sometimes there's only 1 or 2 measures shown in one page, if they're separated too widely, and also very bad to listen, because a delay will be triggered. So will you please make the breaks & spacers able to be shown either in the main score or the parts?
Also, I know that the section break is actually not formally used for only visual effects, so could you please develop one that will not affect the timing, the instrument names, and the measure numbers, but will still separate the measures wider into different pages?

Section break is the wrong too, use system breaks (AKA line breaks). And indeed section breaks are linked between score and part, system breaks are not.
You can get rid of the section breaks' delays and also the measure numbering and instrument name stuff it causes, but it sill is the wrong tool here
All others do this...

So how can I actually WIDEN the measures? Not separating them vertically.
You can stretch measures too, yes, or just apply system breaks. Either is described in the handbook. As said, a section break is the wrong too, it is to separate movements of a piece from one another, even if a section break also causes a system break

Outdated thread, but still the type is wrong... XD
