Inserting system break causes distorted tie

In the attached file, placing a system break in measure 3 causes the tie on the Trombone I part seem to attach to the previous A in the first system, but it still looks normal in the second system.

I tested a little more by immediately adding a system break to the next measure and the tie at the end of that measure then looked like it wanted to tie to some previous point. The tie on the first system be came normal and the tie at the beginning of the 3rd system looked normal.
