Open the attached score and take the reset option. You can clearly see the collisions between slurs and staccatto dots in measures 2 and 18.

True. If you turn off autoplace you can get a better idea of what is happening. The initial layout of the slur has it under the staccato dots, then autoplace raises it enough to clear the stems but not high enough to clear to staccato. I guess that is a result of the code that otherwise allows for staccato and tenuto to fit inside slurs while other articulations go outside.
