"When loading a MIDI file, please improve placing notes on the correct keys, because currently it works terribly. For example notes that should be on the treble staff are attached to the bass staff with additional lines above the staff (and they are 'stuck' there even if I transpose eg. an octave up or two).
Secondly the piano keys view (treble and bass) is switched (eg. first goes bass staff and treble goes beneath), on the second line it's reverse, and so on.
Thirdly if I switch from let's say piano + cello view to piano only view. Suddenly the two key notation of the piano gets converted to a single (bass!) staff only."

Comments

It sounds like this user needs to post into the forum for help in understanding what's happening.

  1. It sounds like he's selecting a piano instrument and expecting MuseScore to know that notes entered while while the bass clef is selected should automatically be placed in the treble clef if they're above a certain note.

  2. I've never seen the staves on a piano magically switch positions, so I suspect there is a clef change happening, but I'm not sure.

  3. Finally it sounds like the user is using "Hide empty staves" and the point where there is only one staff, it is because the others are hidden. This may also help explain the staves switching positions if the cello is the first instrument.

I'm not sure how your feedback form works, but for users like this need to be encouraged to use the forum to get help. As you know, there are several of us willing to provide the guidance the user needs.

Severity S2 - Critical S4 - Minor

I'm lowering the severity, since the user is talking about general problems with midi import, which are difficult to solve because really needs to smart heuristics for that type of stuff...and it is not critical for us to focus on.
