I'm having this same issue with marching percussion scores. Sounds like a buzz-saw. If I mute the snare track, then it doesn't stutter. If I solo the snare, the stuttering doesn't last as long, but it still happens. Consistestently. After a certain number of measures. If I stop playback during stuttering, then switch to a piano-only score and quickly start playback on that, it will stutter. OS: Windows 7 64bit

I don't get any halting or stuttering with the beta version on my system:
OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.1.0.6807, revision: 60546fc
In the past, when I have gotten the odd stuttering, restarting audio under the I/O tab in Preferences fixed the problem.

I too am having the same issue! Doesnt start immediately. Will be able to play the score for a bit. Then stop it. Then often times here a loud POP! And then the audio glitches out again. Such as not playing every note. Stuttering play back. Distorted play back. I have the latest version for both Linux and Mac OS. Same exact problems! However when reverting back to version 3.0.2 I have NO audio issues with the very same score. This is clearly a MuseScore issue and NOT an OS or hardware issue. Please resolve.
