How to delete measure/bar lines between multiple staves
I am writing an SATB choir piece, and the bar lines extend, connecting the treble and bass staves. The only problem is that they cross the lyrics I have between the staves. Does anyone know how to hide the bar lines such that they only divide the actual staff, without extending into the lyric area?
If it helps, I found this previous post (link below) from 2012 talking about MS 2.0 saying that it wasn't possible with that particular version. I was wondering if anyone knew if that has changed 7 years later now that we have MS 3.0.

Double click a barline, drag the bottom of the line to the bottom of the top staff and it will no longer connect the staves.

I did eventually figure it out, but for some reason, it works on all the measures except the first one. It's a pickup measure, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

The very first line that connects all of the staves in the song cannot be altered.
