Where do you store user-defined or altered palettes?

Hi,

I have made a palette with punctuation signs. and I have stored it under Extensions in the musescore folder. Is there a better place to store user-defined or altered palettes?

I think the best thing to do is to create a new workspace and add the palette there. There is really no reason to save it separately unless you are going to revert to factory settings so you can keep it or share it with someone.

Extensions is meant for actual extensions downloaded and installed as part of the built in facility within MuseScore (see Help / Resource Manager). I am not really sure how safe it is to place your own saved palettes there, but I suspect it's OK. Personally, I put mine one level up, right in the MuseScore3 folder. I'm not claiming this is a great idea either. But, the only thing I use saved palettes for is to explicitly share them between workspaces. So once I have saved a palette from one workspace then loaded it into another, I'm basically done with the file and could really just as well delete it.

i save them in case I mess things up and so I can share palettes. The best place is where you can find them again when you need them. For me this is currently:

/home/(username)/Documents/MuseScore3/MS_Saved_Configs
