Steps to reproduce the issue:

1) Open a file from an old score created using an old musescore version. (This is a guess as I received a musescore file from a friend. Out of 7 files, only one brought this page up. I suspect this file was saved under an old format - looking at the message on the pop-up window in my new update. Note also, the formatting was off in the old format).
2) The message would appear as per the picture uploaded.
3) The pop-up window does not have any buttons to press. In order to do so, I had to either change the resolution for my screen or move the taskbar to another side of the screen in order to be able to click the button.
4) I tried both methods - to retain the old format and to go with the new format. If I were to retain the old format, the format runs. So I had to go with the new format. No complaints on that.

Is that the only thing too large, though? I'm guessing not, and that other dialogs are also too large, maybe the toolbar and palette icons too, perhaps the score as well?

These things happen when using high DPI displays due to how the OS tries to scale things. Depending on the specifics of your particular configuration, you might find the -D command line - which scales virtually everything - fits the bill. Or you might find the environment variable QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR to be relevant., Or setting this scaling options within Windows to be "system enhanced" for MuseScore. If you need help sort all this out, let us know more info, like which of those other things I mentioned are also off (score, for instance should be "life sized" at 100% zoom - same size as when printed).

Hi Marc, the normal page seems fine. I've uploaded one for you to have a look. I don't want the font to go any smaller. It's rather small as it is. I'm using a laptop with a 14" screen. The recommended display is 1920 x 1080 (I guess that would be pixel...I'm really not an IT person sorry!) so I went with that.

Re: your second paragraph. I'm sorry I have no clue what you are saying. What do you mean - in layman's term please...

I'm not a very good user and at this stage, I'm having other smaller issues as well...e.g. I can't seem to be able to increase the layout stretch or decrease them to my liking. It's not very intuitive. It's either too stretched out - stretching out 2 bars or squeezing far too many bars in one line. I can't seem to be able to control it.

I also don't know how to increase the font size for printing purposes. I guess I have not used it long enough to learn everything about Musescore yet. My usage is pretty basic.

So you are saying if you hold a sheet of normal paper up to the screen, it's the same size as what you see? If so, that would mean that indeed only that dialog is displaying incorrectly, which would be pretty unusual, but everything about how high DPI displays work is unfortunately not standardized. I would try what I said about setting the EXE file to "system enhanced". To do this, find the file in C:\Program Files\MuseScore3\bin, right click, Properties, Compatibility, Change High DPI Settings, set to "Ssystem (enhanced)" in the control at the bottom. Every version of Windows is a little different you might see things labeled a little differently, but that should be the basic idea. And if that doesn't work, experiment with other settings in that same dialog.

As for any issues you having trying to understand how to use MuseScore, it definitely helps to read the Handbook. Changing layout stretch is not something an ordinary user would ever need to do, but it could be you have system breaks in your score in places other than where you like, so deleting them and and adding them where you prefer would make sense. If you have some case where you believe messing with stretch would be helpful as well, best to ask for help on the Support forum and attach your score so we can understand and assist better.

Thanks Marc. I'll try your suggestion when I'm not so bogged down with projects. Don't want to mess my computer up at the moment.

As to the size of what I see on paper vs screen - yes. Frankly, I want some of them to be larger but I can't find "change font size" anywhere. Guess I have to look deeper.

On stretching - it usually comes with scores I receive from friends. If it's my own creation, I usually don't have a problem. I've read the handbook once a long time ago. Must have forgotten quite a bit of it. I usually go back there when I have a problem. I'm not sure what you mean by system breaks so yes, I think revision is in order. I'll post up the next time I encounter the same issue. It happens quite frequently and it is always the same - from too many bars squashed together to 2 bars stretched way too much.

To make the music larger on screen - meaning, the entire sheet of paper and everything on it will look bigger on your computer, but still the same size printed - use the zoom control on the main toolbar. To make the actual printed music bigger - still standard sized paper, but larger staves - see the scaling settings in Format / Page Settings.

For further questions about issues with specific scores not looking as you'd like, please ask on the Support forum and attach the score. Msot likely it's just a matter of adding or removing systems breaks as mentioned.
