It would be cool if we could select all text within a lyric even, or, any text for that matter that exists on the score, whether title, subtitle or anything else. We would have much greater text editing ability. Thanks!
I know, but still, being able to normally select all text in a title for example, without the weird underlining that makes the user think it's a software bug, would sure be cool!.
It's just so different from the selection highlight that everyone is expecting to see.....
Or if I have a long subtitle and I want to just edit that subtitle and not anything else. It would sure be cool if ctrl-a would work..................... Please!

Do you know about Style -> Edit Text Style ?
You can even save the style to apply it on other scores.

In text edit mode MuseScore also lacks selection via mouse.
word dude!
Rev. 2258 implements Ctrl+A to select all text. Selecting text with mouse is also now possible.
Click are one point, Shift+Click at another point does not form a selection. (Tested in r.2258 self-built)
However Click drag to select with mouse works and the highlighted background make it work much more like text in other programs.
Added in rev. 2260.
