Using Real Time (Automatic) w/MIDI Keyboard
I have searched YouTube judiciously and cannot find a good demonstration on how to simply "play" a melody in real time with my MIDI Keyboard and have it translate to the sheet! I'm starting to think that it's so glitchy (probably in Finale and Sibelius as well) and a pipe dream to think I could do that. Anybody?? Please assist - I was thinking about buying the online tutorial that an expert sells here (somewhere) but afraid I'll learn the same thing - that it's not really capable to do. Please help, someone! ;-)

The video linked in the Handbook is excellent, but - realistically, you will likely find that dreams of just being able to play whatever you want and have it magically turned into accurate and readable notation are not likely to come true any time soon.

Which I can understand if you're trying to play a bunch of stuff, but what about a simple melody (Jingle Bells, for example)? Just one piano - and one melody line.

Works OK for that purpose, with practice.
