Mixer panel has vanished.

• Jul 4, 2021 - 00:45

I have been using MuseScore 2.0.3. I left a score on the screen with the mixer panel visible and with three instruments ticked for Solo. When I came back less than two hours later the mixer panel had vanished.

When I click on the "View" tab I see that "Mixer" has a tick to indicate that it is active.

Unless I find a way to retrieve it, I can't play back this or any other full score.

I'm only guessing but maybe....

Untick the mixer and re tick it. Or..
Untick it, close and restart MuseScore. Or...
Open a score with a lot of instruments.

What OS are you using?

Seriously. The version of the software has not caused any such problem before. It is installed on an "ancient" PC which has never been connected to the internet, and is thus invulnerable to external influences. I am typing this on a laptop on which I have installed both 2.3 and 3.6.2. I am in the middle of a project which I started on the older version. I find the differences between the two too numerous to spend time exploring at this stage. I'll save that for when I'm about to start another project.

Meanwhile I take it that the disappearance of the mixer panel remains inexplicable. Sad and worrying.

Presumably you accidentally moved it offscreen. Modern versions of MuseScore have a plugin to restore window positions. Obsolete ones may require a revert to factory settings if you can't find some remnant of the mixer at the edge of the screen to drag back.

Regarding the forum, it's threaded, so responses show under the post they are responding to. With separate responses posted at separate times to separate comments, it's perfectly normal they won't be all sequential.
