OS: Linux Mint 20.1, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.0.0-1552514374, revision: 28863c6

Open the attached MS file. Look at the ties in mm 8-9, 16-17, 24-25, and 40-41. They are all badly out of position.

I can't see anything wrong with these ties. This is before

and after resetting them (they look fine, if slightly different in a 7 Jan nightly on macOS).

Can you please

a) check if this is still an issue for you in a current 4.0 nightly?
b) reset positions (select all, Ctrl/Cmd + R)
b) provide a screenshot of what you consider bad?

(a) Ties are still out of position.
(b) Reset has no effect.
(c) Here is a screenshot of a section of the test file as it appears in MS 4-x dev. The tie in the tab is clearly out of position:
