Create a new score using Choral Barbershop (for Women)
Enter notes to measures.
Attempt to delete a measure using CNTRL + DEL.
Nothing happens.
Tried to remove empty trailing measure at the end.
Nothing happened.

I can't reproduce, please attach the score
Most likely you have accidentally pressed Ctrl+I and invoked a special undocumented/unsupported mode that really does nothing but break this command (seriously). To get back to normal mode, press Ctrl+I again. or just restart MuseScore.
Ctrl+I is, of course, the command to make text bold, but only in text edit mode.

This just solved the issue for me as well. LOL. What an outstandingly random bug. For what it's worth, I hit Cmd + i the first time trying to make the Subtitle italics, which, of course, didn't work. I remembered doing it as soon as I read this comment.
