- Notate a long duration chord in one hand of the grand staff.
- Notate notes of shorter duration in the other hand of the staff which belong to the chord in step 1.
- The notes will not be heard in playback since the program thinks that since the chord is being held, pressing the key again will do nothing since the key is already depressed.
This is logically correct, but the extra notes should be heard because in real life. The piano player plays the chord and holds the sustain pedal to get it to ring, then plays the extra notes that were part of the sustained chord.

This is indeed a known current limitation of Msue Sounds specifically. Meanwhile SoundFonts should work as expected, and hopefully Muse Sounds will soon as well.
