When trying to save to the Documents folder, I get a message from Windows that the filename can not be found. Saving to other locations works.
I am on windows in a domain. My user is a domain user.
When I save the file to a different location, and inspect the properties of the files, it has permissions for local accounts but not domain accounts.
Other applications save normally.
I have seen other users ask about this issue, but not describe it as a permissions problem.

Workaround Yes No

It's a problem between Musescore and the OS. Other programs save to this folder with no issue. It has started for me in Musescore 3 as well. Access is not denied to the location for the user who is logged on, and listed as the owner of the file. But when the file is saved to a different location, even though the logged-on user is the owner, that user and groups for the domain are not shown in the list of Users in the permissions properties. The domain user account is a local administrator.

I fixed the issue for me by adding MuseScore as an allowed app through Controlled folder access in Settings - Privacy & Security - Windows Security - Virus & Threat protection - Ransomware protection. Merry Christmas for everybody!
