Under Home>Handbook for MuseScore 4>Notation: Repeats>Repeat playback
The handbook reads: "By default, repeats are always played. If you want to turn off repeat playback, click the "Toggle loop playback" button in the middle of the Play toolbar at the top of the program window."
The option for actually turning loop playback on/off in 4.0 is located in the settings menu to the right of the playback controls.
