MuseScore Beta1 / Windows7

1) Open default score
2) Fill four measures with quarter notes
3) Second measure -> Right-click -> Measure Properties
4) Change the value of "Layout Stretch"
5) "Apply"

Result: none

Subsidiary question: why the default value (1.00) can be changed only in the sense of adding more stretch (the value has no limit). While it is not possible to "adding" less stretch, or very little (1.00 to 0.90 only). Why we cannot to get off this value?

This is annoying, because, in more, the shortcut "{" does not work (as I read some topics, this would be related to the configuration of keyboards, AZERTY for my case) ?

I can confirm the fact that Apply doesnt work in this dialog - not just for stretch, but for any settings.

As for why you can't reduce stretch here beyond 0.90, that is a very good question. This much has been true "forever" I think. in fact, even if you reduce stretch below 0.90 using the regular keyboard shortcuts, if you then bring up Measure Properties, it continues to display 0.90 as the value even though that is not correct.

Should I split or not this issue in two parts? "Apply" doesn't work for settings: it's a fact.

But for the second part: can it be said that the impossibility to reduce the stretch below the value of 0.90 is a bug or not? Or may be understood as a feature request? Thanks.

Apply not working for settings - that's just one bug whether we are talking about stretch or any other setting.

The fact that stretch always displays with a minimum value of 0.90 is a separate bug.

One more thing - the change actually *is* applied. The score just isn't redrawn to show it. You can see this by hitting Cancel after Apply - you'll see your changes *do* take effect. That's also an easy fix :-)

This fixes several minor issues with this dialog: the failure to update the score display after Apply, the bad minimum value for the "Layout stretch" control, and I also made it current measure is always selected (on all staves), so if you use the next/previous buttons, you can tell which measure you are working on.

Everything works fine, the settings, the layout stretch. I am particularly happy with the possibility in particular, to make finally changes in the direction "add less stretch" via this dialog. ☺

As already mentioned, the keyboard shortcut does not work, and I cannot count the times, since several months, that I have doing back and forth in the toolbar (Layout) to reduce one value after an other value, and so on... the size of a measure (:

Thanks so much Marc :)

You're welcome. Does the shprtcut work if you redefine it? If there an issue filed for this?

BTW, easier than using Measure Properties for stretch would be to simply use the command in the Layout menu, which would also allow to apply to multiple measures at once just like the keyboard command. Also, if you globally want everything smaller, you can change the default spacing setting in Style / General / Measure (that's what stretch applies to).

Of course, this is what I do all the time. But piecemeal, for one or a few specific measures that pose difficulties, this function will help me, I'm sure!
For the keyboard shortcut, unfortunately, from what I've read in several topics in the forums, I think the AZERTY keyboard configuration either QWERTY is involved.
