odd meter in 2.0 beta version

i created a partitur with four voices in 4/4. the b-part is in 7/4 when i want to change the meter by going with secondary click on the 4/4 sign and changing it into 7/4 it turns out to be a 7/4 but when i type in notes then it doesnt fit. it is too short, the notes also go beyond the bar line but still belong to the bar before, its weird. within this process musescore also crashed a lot of times, then it asked me to reopen closed windows, i say yes, it does and then immediately crashes again.
i hope i described the problem detailed enough.
