To replicate:
1) Create note
2) Create grace note
3) Shift+Ctrl+down

Expected: note shifts to lower staff
Actual: Note moves upwards rather than down, but other parts of the software do think that the note moved onto the other staff (i.e. the lines that go above/below a note when lying below/above the staff lines). Temporary fix is to manually move each note down 10.5 units, but this is clearly not working as intended.

Comments

Well, like I said, moving both the note and its stem down by 10.5 units seems to make it work perfectly. Maybe just integrate that into the cross-staff so that, though it wouldn't be perfect, it would at a minimum at least be in the right place.

That, or someone has it move -5.25 instead of 5.25, causing the issue.

I think you'll find 10.5 just happens to be the difference between the staff positions for these particular staves of this particular score. The problem is we are basing the grace chord position on that of the main chord, which isn't appropriate if they are on different staves. Intead, I think it needs to be based on the position the main chord would have been on if it were on the same staff. I'll see what I can do.

I love that I can combine grace notes on a single staff (in my case, making a triplet starting from the bottom. Interestingly, you must grace note the top note first and go down till you reach the bottom note. This method makes any combination count: couplets, triplets, quadruplets, etc.)

But I find it frustrating that I cannot cross beam grace notes so that the first note of the triplet would be in the base clef and the last would be in the treble clef. Can someone work on this, please?

Actually, you can do this already - see the Handbook under cross staff notation.

Also, for future reference, don't assign yourself to an issue unless you are volunteering to fix it. In general, it's best to ask for help in the support forum rather than using the issue tracker to ask questions. So if you continue to have trouble with this after reading the Handbook, please ask for help on the forum.
