Notes still have "Stemless" off when the measure is stemless
r 3507 XP3
1. Write 4 quarter notes.
2. Go to "Note heads".Pallet.
3. Replace all 4 note heads with slash (Step 3 &4 are not necessary, but are what I was working with).
4. Go to measure properties and select "Stemless".
5. Attempt to change 1 note head back to "with stem" by using note properties.
Expected result: "stemless" should be selected in the note properties as the note is now stemless. One could then selectively add/remove stems per note.
Actual result: "Stemless" is not selected. One cannot change a single note in this instance.

I would propose stemless in note properties to be disabled if the measure is already marked as stemless.
That appears to be the case now, as it has no impact. Can it not be enabled when the "Measure Properties" access is used? I would think it should be coordinated with the "Note Properties" menu.
I also changed the title to better reflect the issue.
Regards,
By disabled, I mean grayed.
My thought is that using your method ( if I clearly understand it) will have 2 places where this can be effected, but only one place at certain times. I suspect that this will lead to many unnecessary clicks.
Thanks for all your work.

Is it really needed to have stemless on for notes in a stemless measure? These are properties on different levels, I don't think an override is necessary?
I'm not so sure the stemless property for measures makes sense at all. It was a workaround 10 years ago for a collection of features we didn't have, but I don't think there is anything it does not that isn't done more easily and naturally in other ways. I'd be interested to know if anything still uses it at all, and if so, how.
I've used this a few times because it's there but it's not really easier than selecting a measure, clicking notes then stemless in the inspector.
