1) Look at 'Articulations & Ornaments' in the palette.
2) Hover over a button. (workaround seems to be finding a longer-named feature, which will expand the yellow box)
You hover over something else with a bigger name, then go back to the last thing that was cut off and it'll be fine - until you move off the panel (e.g. on the score) and on again.

The tooltips appear fine for me on Window 7, MuseScore 1.0.0 pre-release 2, r. 3949.

I can't reproduce on mac 10.5 with latest build on the branch. Any plan to upgrade your mac ? :)
Yes, it's fine on 2.0.0 Nightly Build (3953).
Remember it probably won't be just me - not a priority to upgrade at the moment (especially if the improvements are probably trivial) :).
It's not that old lol! Got it 2007 (MacBook). I have a MacPro which I think is 10.6.
Seems to be fine now, for whatever reason.
