Delete in menu
Can we have 'Delete' in the 'Edit' menu?
Audacity, FireFox, Harmony Assistant, LilyPond, Preview, QuickTime, Safari, Sibelius and TextEdit have it.

It may have some advantages to using the keyboard?
Two options are better than one.
I vote for adding the delete button on the menu
It's also in some context menus (e.g. when right-clicking a bar).

There is "Delete" in the right-click menu and "Delete selected Measures" in the Edit menu, in 2.0, but both are gone in the nightly builds for 3.0

I have a WIP branch from a while ago that does this and a few other things (it also adds Timewise Delete, which is the new Delete Selected Measures), but I have no idea how much rebasing it might need. Go right ahead!

Automatically closed -- issue fixed for 2 weeks with no activity.
The fix for this causes #227826: Regression: In any Text-area, you are prevented from using the (Del) key.
