In Preferences, there's the two boxes, but some people may not know what one is width, or height.

Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (4300) - Mac 10.4.11.

The image on the icon scales without stretching, but the buttons' width and height are independent variables. (Note that the settings do not apply until you click on any icon, a separate issue.)

Default:

Wider:

Taller:

I agree with lasconic's suggestion to remove the ability to change the proportions of the icons ("stretching").

Is the current level of customisability necessary even? OS X applications (Apple Pages 4.3, NetNewsWire 4.0.1, Adium 1.5.10.2) seem to typically offer the alternative of smaller icons next to the default size. Maybe in MuseScore just offer two or three different toolbar sizes to choose from, for example small, normal (default), large?

Please, again, the icons do not stretch! Just try it and see. This is about the size of the buttons on which the icons rest. The icons maintain perfect proportion within the size of the button.

Okay. :-P

But regardless, I don't think that level of customisability adds anything but confusion (potentially).

Fixed in branch 2.1, commit 0af24e2bd0
