cant see playback controls when F11 is pressed

I press f11 and the main window greys out as if I have a playback control on the screen, but i cannot actully see the playback window...
Im using a dell latitude D600 with xp pro sp3

did you have a 2nd screen attached the last time you used the play panel?
The easiest way to fix this is https://musescore.org/en/handbook/revert-factory-settings
Another was is to locate and modify MuseScore2.ini, in there delete the section [playPanel]
