1) "My First Score"
2) Toggle in Continuous View
3) Input some notes
4) Enter lyrics: a syllable (but not necessary) and a hyphen. Like this:

5) Wait: the time for Auto-save (less than a minute if you have configured 1 minute)

Result after waiting: the selection is lost.

After more investigation, new steps for explain the disappearance of lyrics. More exactly: the syllable where the cursor was located

1) "My First Score"
2) Toggle in Continuous View
3) Input some notes
4) Enter lyrics: a syllable + an hyphen + a second syllable. Like this:

5) Wait: the time for Auto-save

Result after waiting: the second syllabe (and the hyphen) are removed.

As I foresaw, this issue is not just about lyrics. And the hyphen is not ultimately the central point, but the Auto-Save, no doubt (and Continuous View). With the consequence of losing the selection and the various associated elements: lyrics, chords, figured bass (as you see below)

Worth a title that encompasses the whole issue.

Mac forums suggest it may not be possible to disable auto save in Yosemite. There does not appear to be any indication of whether it can be done on El Capitan, but some Musescore users seem to have had problems with El Capitan anyway. Continuous view was indicated as a contributory factor to the problem, but I found the lyrics issue occurred also in page view. I also realised after reading these posts that it occurs on each manual save too.

From my side (under Windows 7), I can not reproduce the issue with the steps described previously (initial message and comment #1), if I am in Page View.

If you have other steps for Page View, please share.

Don't know for now where, but this issue occurs in/around August 4, 2015

- Not this one: 1fa3a66

EDIT: checked with lyrics

EDIT1: don't know at all if it's an indication, but I note that MuseScore is opening on August 2 with "Promenade" default score (and MuseScore Connect panel) while on August 4, it is opening with "My First Score " default score.
