Inconsistency in part name in staff properties between extracted part and the score

(This affects both 2.0.3 and 3.0-dev)

When you edit the part name on the main part of the score and later extract parts, the "part names" on the staves of the extracted part are the default for the instrument. This is best demonstrated by right-clicking on the staves in the attached score and then comparing the "part name" field to the part name field of the extracted parts.

It's not a functional problem (all part names are from the main score, and you can't generate parts from parts), but may cause some confusion if you need to edit the staff properties in a linked part for some reason, so I've marked this as a minor UI issue.

I don't follow. Everything I'm seeing is consistent—e.g., the second staff in the score has a part name "Euphonium," and if you switch to the part for "Euphonium" and go into that instrument's Staff Properties, its part name is "Euphonium." Could you be more precise as to exactly what's different?

I think perhaps you are confusing "part name"(what appears at the top left of the part) with *staff name* (what appears to the left of the staves for the instrument on each system). You can control both of these independently.

I take it back - I just looked at the Mellophone part and see what you mean. If you view the Staff Properties for that part, the part name still says "Horn in F". I assume this is generated from the Instrument name rather than copied from the part name in the score. And you are right that this is minor and not visible in the score itself, but worth thinking about.
