1. Create score.
2. Enable 'Note Entry'.
3. Enter note.
4. Disable 'Note Entry'.
5. Select note.
6. Delete.
7. Click elsewhere in score.
8. Enable 'Note Entry'.

Expected result: Last colour used (selected/entered) appears in a voice box.
Actual result: Colours in box don't appear until you enter a note.

Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (4631) - Mac 10.6.8.

Comments

Deleting is not important, the important step in the list above is 7): as soon as no note or rest is selected, no voice box (1-4) is coloured. The relevant voice box becomes coloured with the appropriate colour once one note or rest is selected.

If note entry mode is enabled when no note or rest is selected, entered notes or rests go to voice 1 by default, and voice 1 box gets its colour.

This being the current default, I would re-phrase the issue in this way:

Expected behaviour: if note entry mode is enabled when no note or rest is selected, voice 1 box should immediately become coloured (even before entering anything).

You're right - thanks.

Voice 1 is the default colour, but it doesn't update it.

1. Enable 'Note Entry'.
2. Select Voice 2.
3. Disable 'Note Entry'.
(Result: Voice 2 box)
4. Enable 'Note Entry'.
(Result: Voice box 2, but blue note head)
5. Click for note.

Result: Voice box changes to 1.

I think this is no longer applicable, the current behaviour is that entering note entry mode automatically selects a note or rest clicked last and also that note or rest's voice box.
