1. Open score.
2. Save As.
3. Choose a title, then enter a Slash (/).
4. OK.

Result: The stroke appears as a colon in the MuseScore window and score tab.

Using MuseScore 1.1 and 2.0 Nightly Build (4789) - Mac 10.6.8.

Comments

The colon also appears in 'Open Recent'

I don't know if there's complications with this.

I don't think Windows files allow slashes (or colons?) as characters, yet I can name them as such on the Mac (although files imported via iTunes treat slashes and question marks as underscores).

Please check if the problem persists with MuseScore 3.5, I cannot because I'm on Windows and it doesn't accept slashes or colons in file names like you said.

Frequency Once Many
Reproducibility Always

Confirmed in MuseScore 3.5. However, I'm not sure how much this is related to MuseScore; I believe I have seen other cases of macOS swapping out slashes by colons, for example with paths to files in Terminal. However, in other apps, like TextEdit, the slash is shown properly. Maybe I can figure out how we can also get this in MuseScore.

Fun fact: also happens in Dorico and Sibelius, but not in Finale.

Frequency Many Few

"Frequency" is how many people reported this issue, now it's 2 (or 1, if your comment is just a confirmation), whereas "Many" requires 5 :)
