Annoying issue with note input
Every time I input a note, it scrolls to a different page. This has been occurring merely with the last measure of a page, but it has progressed to happening consistently on any portion of a page.
Is there a setting that can stop this? I searched through the preference tab, and I could not find anything.

In order to understand we need you to attach the score that is giving you problems and please give precise steps to reproduce the problem. Normally the cursor simply moves forward to the next note or rest as one would expect, so unless you are at the end of a page the cursor should remain in the same page of course.
And working in continuous mode should fix the jumping to a next page or system
I think I can see this too (can the original author confirm?).
See a screencast of me filling a bar with crotchets.
If I input by typing E, it jumps.
If I input by typing R, it doesn't jump.
I don't know if it's by design (subject of discussions that took place a while ago?), but I found it a bit annoying.
Using MuseScore 2.1 Nightly Build 75b66fd - Mac 10.11.6.
I believe this https://musescore.org/en/node/165716 explains why it does jump with the R but does with the E
