Many shortcuts (e.g. shift-s for staccato) works when you select either groups of notes or ctrl-click multiple notes. I have created a shortcut for several beam properties (Beam Start for one). When I select more than one note in any manner I get the following error.
No Note or rest selected:
Please select a single note or rest and retry operation.
If I do the same thing and double click the icon in the palette it works as expected (as with staccato).

This is probably related somehow and should definitely be fixed at the same time. You cannot undo a short cut beam properties but you can undo palette beam properties.

When I first reported this, Marc asked me to list any other shortcuts that do not work properly. I haven't tested every shortcut, but in my normal use of MuseScore I have found no others that do not work correctly.
