drag & drop of dynamics does not work

This happens with any score.
Open Dynamics palette, drag a dynamic to score. As you hover over different notes, a dotted line appears showing which note your marking will in theory be attached to. This is nice! But when you release, the dynamic does not actually get created. Clicking a note and double-clicking the dynamic works normally.

This is still not working for me using 4c859d86e5 I got "drop Dynamic onto Measure not accepted"
FWIW, I get this too - except if I drop onto the first measure. Works there for some reason.

Automatically closed -- issue fixed for 2 weeks with no activity.
I've tried to use the Dynamics Line Hairpin to get Crescendos or Diminuedo, but I just can get it into the first compass of the group of notes I want to change. The following compasses reproduce the last dynamic level (fortissimo in the sample below) from the second compass. In other words, the dynamic change is performed only in the first original hairpin place (first compass). How can we change this behaviour? ???
Please use the forum rather than resurrecting an old and fixed issue. There please attach the score, not just a picture of it and also mention which version or MuseScore on what OS you are using. Also the term 'compass' is unknown to me, at least in musical context, so please clarify
