I'm runnning the nightly appimage MuseScoreNightly-201707191720-master-cc66505-x86_64.AppImage (OS: Fedora 26, x86_64) and having the following problem: Selecting a slur by double click by the mouse pointer, then the slur cannot be deselected, and it's unpossible to select further slurs: no mscore reaction (for eample use the attached score, measure nr. 3, vc line, upper slur: select it by double click and then try to proceed). adeste.mscz

Double clicking a slur puts you into "edit mode". You can exit the mode by hitting "Escape".
The ability to exit edit mode by clicking elsewhere on the canvas was removed.

I guess you try to deselect the slur in edit mode with a click on an empty space.

You can deselect by using "Esc" key

Oops... comment #2 sent when I wrote mine.

"The ability to exit edit mode by clicking elsewhere on the canvas was removed"

Really? Provisionally or definitively?
It's a very intuitive way to undone, and really easier to access (in my use)

1. Indeed: I tried to click into an empty space so it's correct to modify the issue's title.

2. Leaving editing with the escape key works!

Needs info related to comment #2 (and #4)

EDIT: And if it's really the design for the next 3.0, I would consider this a severe regression in the daily practice and in the ease of use of the program.

What about ties, voltas and other lines?

There seems to be a misunderstanding:

The editing can be stopped by the ESC key, but undoing the editing is only possible by the Edit->Undo and not by CtrlZ. That was the reason for my issue.
