Custom score style not used as default

Context: today commit (706d844e6, 2013-11-12), self complied under Linux Mint 14, Qt Creator 2.7.2 and Qt lib 5.1.0.

Steps:
1) In a score whatsoever, customize the style and save it as a custom style file (menu "Save | Save style")
2) Set this style file in "Edit | Preferences | Score | Default files: Style"
3) Close and re-start MuseScore (just in case...)
4) Create a new score

Result: the new score uses the default, built-in style, not the custom style.

Expected result: the custom style is used

Note: The saved style file does contain the customizations; then, it is not a matter of writing, but a matter of reading.
