Voices Won't Work

Hello,

I am trying to write some music. In this music, I need two hands to play treble for a bit. I have tried placing voices onto the upper and lower parts. In case you people ask, I HAVE tried clicking on "Note Input Mode" before clicking on the 2nd voice, I HAVE looked at the "Voices" part of the local and online handbooks, I HAVE looked at every other part of this forum, but apparently none of them have helped, and I HAVE looked in other places besides this site. As other forums have asked, a green bar never appears in place of the blue one when I click on the second voice. I run MuseScore 1.3, and I have for a while. I haven't had a need for voices before, so I don't know if they worked before. If you people can help, it would be appreciated, as the 3 hours trying to fix this are relatively frustrating. If you can't, well, I guess I will do some very odd notation to get this to work in two clefs. If you need screenshots or some help or have other questions, I'm here to help you help me. Did you try restarting the computer? This issue has been reported before, but is rare and not reproducible. Annoyingly, it usually just goes away after a fashion.
