Which version of MuseSc ore exactly? Has the score been created from scratch or stems from an older version of MuseScore?
Can you provide a sample score?
I can provide more info here. I'm using MuseScore 3.0.5 and experiencing the same issue. The first score attached was imported from an older version of MuseScore (2.3.2). Each time there's a marcato-staccato, it simply does nothing with the note.
It's affecting all my imported files, but not any created in 3.0.5 (see the second attached file). In imported files, even if I delete the previous marcato and staccato, and use the new composite articulation that 3 added, I get the same issue.
For some extra info, in older versions of MuseScore, if I added a staccato then a marcato, it would only play the marcato, but if I did it the other way around it would play both together as intended. This workaround no longer works for me.
(EDIT: the change on the workaround option was unintended btw. Undid it with second reply. Sorry about that.)
This indeed only works for scores created in MuseScore 3, only those have these combined articulations as part of the instruments' definitions, scores imported from earlier versions don't.
Workaround is to 'change' the instrument to the same it already is, to drag in those new instrument definitions.

Second reply here to undo unintended change from Workaround Yes to No. Sorry about that, must have accidentally clicked the button.
