Using version 3.1 with the new "HQ" soundfont loaded, open the synthesizer.
Select one of the soundfonts in the fluid tab and press the up or down arrow button to change the order of the soundfonts.
Nothing happens. MuseScore eventually crashes.

Comments

This took so long on my windows 10 system that I thought you were right, but the order eventually changed. What operating system are you using?

I'm using Windows 10. The synthesizer window became unresponsive and MuseScore then closed and opened the crash reporter. I was able to reproduce this crash multiple times.

Did you click anything while you were waiting? I made a point to not click anything until MuseScore either responded or crashed.

Precise steps to reproduce:
1. Start MuseScore and open a score
2. Open the synthesizer and select the fluid tab
3. Select the top soundfont and press the down arrow button
4. The synthesizer window will become unresponsive and MuseScore will eventually crash

I loaded the same soundfonts with yours to the MS Synthesizer.
sf3s put a lot of strain on the system; Yes.
But the MS did not crash on my system.

Download and try sf2 versions of these soundfonts (go to links, right click on soundfont links it and select "save as".
