How do I add wind chimes to my score?
I have tried to add the metal wind chimes to the end of a piece of music that I've been writing. I added the staff from the Instruments dialog and it made a simple one line percussion staff on which I tried to add the notation that I needed. What happens is that it won't let me put any notes in. When I tried to click on the note provided in the Drumset input mode dialog at the bottom of the screen it says Cabasa, and makes a cabasa sound in the music. I've tried changing it to a 5 line staff, but that didn't change anything. How do I fix this?

You need to find a soundfont that includes the metal wind chimes in it. This is not part of the GM standard followed by MuseScore. You can then change to that drumset (or possibly instrument) once you find the proper soundfont.

There is MIDI pitch 84, that might be what you want, see the Handbook under "Drum notation" to learn how to customize a drumset definition to include a note for this pitch.

Hi Marc, I was wondering how I would enter the sound for chimes and cymbals if I don’t have MIDI. Also I would like to add at some stage one of those big symbols, but I’m not sure what they’re called, I was wondering if you knew. Thanks to all the team at Musescore it’s a brilliant site. Karen B

I'm not sure what you mean about not having MIDI, but to be clear: MIDI is how MuseScore does its playback. If you have MuseScore, you have MIDI :-). The way to add various different percussion sounds to your score is to add a percussion staff, and if necessary, customize it via the Edit Drumset dialog. Both the Handbook and my online course contain detailed information on how to do that customization; just see the sections on drum notation.
By "big symbol" I assume you mean a gong or tam-tam. This is not a sound that's part of the General MIDI standard, so the default soundfont doesn't include anything like that, but you might be able to find a soundfont online that does. See the Handbook section on soundfonts for more on how to find and install additional soundfonts.
