If you try to generate a chord tie between chords with unison notes in the same voice, MS only generates one of the unison ties. This occurs in both staff and tablature. (Chords with unison notes are common in guitar music etc.).
Not possible to work round using different voices because of issues with overlapping stems, beams etc.

Contrary to my last post, the workround using a different voice for each unison note does work. The trick is to set one of the notes to "stemless".
I've encountered this problem too, but as a workaround, what about applying a tie to each notehead manually?
Is it really a correct notation for guitar to notate a unison on single voice ?
To implement it correctly we would need to change entirely the tie entry implementation and let user select two notes to tie.
There is a workaround and if the answer to my question above is no, then this bug is minor (or it's not even a bug)
