I'm new to the program and writing my first score on it, so if I'm missing something obvious, forgive me. I have a time signature of 4/4 and want to change to cut time. When I pull the palette menu down to click on the cut time symbol, the program crashes every time. I've tried it five or six time, always the same. I've looked at older posts on this subject but I don't see a solution. I'm running Musescore 2.
Thanks in advance, I really like it otherwise.

There is a known bug that affects applying a time signature using double click instead of drag & drop, only on page 2 or later and only if you start by selecitng a rest. See #75861: Time signature change by double-click and after selecting a rest in a minimum 2 pages score causes a crash. If that sounds like what you are seeing, we can close this issue as a duplicate. That bug is already fixed for the next release. Meanwhile, workaround is to use drag & drop instead of double click, or start by selecting the measure instead of the rest.

If what you are seeing is something else, please post the score you are having problems with and precise step by step instructions to reproduce the crash.

Marc,
Thank you very much!
I selected the measure, drag and dropped the cut-time signature, and it dutifully appeared on all 18 staves of my score. Please consider it closed.

Great, glad to hear it. BTW, you don't need to select the measure *and* use drag & drop. Either alone would work around the bug. That is, don't select anything but drag and drop to the measure, *or* select the measure then double click the icon. Selecting is never necessary or relevant before drag & drop; it's always about where you drop, not what was selected.
